Goose Island Brewing Company launched two new beers in 2019 marking the first time the company had developed, brewed, packaged and sold its own China-specific brews on the mainland. The beers, Loose Goose IPA and Duck Duck Goose IPA, became available in early 2019. Each design contains subtle nods to Goose Island’s classic branding and touches of local China. In addition, Goose Island’s classic brews GOOSE IPA and MIDWAY IPA designs were adapted to the local market.

This graphic was created to support World Refugee Day 2017 promotion efforts on behalf of USA for UNHCR, the UN refugee agency. I wanted to create something unique for the American audience, that allowed people to participate in the ongoing conversation around the global refugee crisis, and that made a clear statement of support. This graphic was promoted across digital channels and printed and distributed as posters, stickers and pins.

I provided primarily Art Direction and Design support for this campaign to bring awareness to those refugees who flee due to sexual orientation. The campaign, once launched, was featured in Fast Company’s “The Science Behind Inspiring More Support for Refugees”.

The Big Book of Ideas was a collaborative one-time only publication featuring out-of-the-box solutions to the global refugee crisis. I was asked to design the book and come up with a solution to organize the many ideas in it. I was inspired by the ideas and their intricacies, so I incorporated the feel of blue prints and scientific papers to design the book.

Sproutworks is a quick-serve soup, salad and sandwich shop with multiple locations around Shanghai. They required signage that brought a playful modernity to healthy eating, which is still quite new to the China market.

ZHE’s coffee is a boutique coffee roaster brand from Shanghai, China, with a seasonal selection of beans that are hand-picked by Award winning roaster Bill Jiang. Branding and packaging were designed with Creativoo, a creative agency based in Shanghai.

Boston Scientific China built a training facility spanning nearly 20,000 sq. ft. in Shanghai. I led the experiential design portion of the renovation that included a welcome animation of an abstract watercolor video; an interactive screen installation for visitors to learn more about Boston Scientific products; interactive screens to replace a receptionist, interactive screens so employees could more easily reserve and manage meeting rooms; wall graphics throughout the office, and, a corporate content presentation. This was a 6-month project that required heavy coordination between my design team, architects, interior designers and developers.

InterContinental Hotels Group China opened several outlets of the new premium casual restaurant Cai Feng Xiao Guan at the end of 2018, one in Crowne Plaza Qingdao and another in Holiday Inn Lanzhou. I designed the restaurant’s logo, visual identity and created a comprehensive brand manual for other hotels within the IHG family to implement for future locations.

Devil & Detail is a personal care product brand that aims to take care of the details in everyday life. The product is alcohol-free and therefore more enjoyable. Branding and packaging were created with Creativoo, an agency based in Shanghai, China.
Graphics to support the Bank of America Better Money Habits biannual report on consumer spending in 2016. Graphics were utilized in the report and incorporated into quick promotional social media posts.

USA for UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, falls under the United Nations umbrella however the organization has the liberty to reinterpret branding for the US audience. This brand book aims to uphold the brand of the UN, but incorporate fresh colors and details to distinguish itself as an independent organization.

Murmuration is a non-profit organization that works toward a future where every child in America has the opportunity to benefit from a high-quality public education. The organization provides highly sophisticated data and analytics, proprietary technology, strategic guidance, and programmatic support to partner organizations also interested in achieving the same goal.
I helped to build out the organization’s visual language in an effort make the content more accessible and streamlined. These icons reduce the word count by instead introducing a visual cue system.
